Honestly, I have a love-hate relationship with Pinterest.
On the one hand, I love getting new ideas for home decor and recipes. On the other hand, I see these beautifully decorated rooms and think about how much it must cost to fully decorate them.
The solution? Figure out how to get the same look on a budget. Today, I’m focusing on seasonal decor on a budget.
Don’t Discount Discount Stores!
I found so much of my fall decor at discount stores like Target, Marshalls and HomeGoods.
Almost all of these pumpkins came from Marshalls, and none cost more than $12.99!
Thrifting Pays Off.
You can find seasonal decor at great prices at thrift stores, home consignment stores, yard sales, and estate sales.
The galvanized pails, above, came from a consignment store; the basket, from an estate sale.
This mantle was decorated with finds from yard sales, plus mini-pumpkins from the grocery store.
Clip Those Coupons.
Craft stores have great seasonal decor…and great coupons!
In my dining room, the faux apples, branches and leaves came from a craft store. They were on sale when I bought them, but I also had a coupon that gave me an additional percentage off the price. Look for these coupons either in your newspaper or through the stores’ mobile apps.
Good Things Come to Those Who Wait.
If you can wait until after the season or holiday is over, stores will put seasonal decor on sale with huge discounts – sometimes up to 75% off!
This wreath was one such bargain – I got it after Halloween last year at a home store for 50% off!
What are your favorite tips to score seasonal decor bargains? How do you decorate for the seasons on a budget?
