I never missed a Mardi Gras during my four years of college in New Orleans, and even now the sight of purple, gold, and green together brings back fond memories of fun, food, and festivities leading up to Ash Wednesday. Even if you’re not a seasoned Mardi Gras attendee, you can still enjoy the fun with decorations, crafts, and treats.
Dress up the house! Beads and bright shades of purple, gold, and green are the simplest decorations. Consider raiding your Christmas ornaments for vase fillers or wreath materials.
Put some treats on the menu. Those Mardi Gras revelers know how to enjoy some good eats and drinks! If Cajun food isn’t your thing, how about a themed appetizer, dessert, or drink?
Make it a family affair. Get the kids involved in the spirit of the celebration! Set up crafts or coloring sheets and word games to go along with the fun.
Keep the spirit of Mardi Gras in your home all the time. If you love the festive colors of Mardi Gras consider throw pillows, rugs, floral arrangements that reference the holiday.
However you choose to celebrate, enjoy the festivities!
