The Big Game is this weekend! Whether you’re having a party or just a family dinner, whether you’re a Seahawk or Patriot (or you’re just in it for the commercials!), here are some yummy, easy-to-make recipes for the Big Game.
Appetizers
Vivienne at The V Spot Blog claims this is the best dip ever. I believe her!
I love chips and dip and I love buffalo wings…combine them and you get the perfect snack for a game day party!
These potato skins are a family favorite:
They are crispy and cheesy and yummy good. As a bonus, you get to use the potato scooped out for mashed potatoes (my favorite food!).
Main Course
For the Big Game, I always want chili for dinner. This is my favorite recipe:
The recipe is really versatile. For example:
– Substitute ground chicken or ground beef for ground turkey;
– Add black beans instead of or in addition to the kidney beans;
– Add 1/2 cup pumpkin or cooked sweet potato to add richness.
You can also make this recipe in the slow cooker. Just brown the meat before adding it to the crock, then add the rest of the ingredients and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4 hours.
I serve chili with tortilla chips (for the kids), saltines (Dear Husband’s favorite), sour cream, grated cheddar cheese, sliced avocado, and chopped green onions.
Dessert
You have to have dessert, right? How about these brownies:
They are easy to make and did you catch that they have candy? And ice cream? We are making these for our game day party!
And just to add some flair to your party, how cute are these mason jar football glasses from Hostess with the Mostess?
All you need are mason jars and duct tape! Easy to make and really cute.
