When you have kids, their artwork becomes prized possessions to them — and you. When you find creative places to display their beautiful masterpieces around the house, you create a warm and inviting environment that the whole family can enjoy. But you don’t have to place paintings and drawings on the wall with tape anymore. Don’t give up your sense of style and home décor just to show off your child’s masterpieces.
Family tack boards give you an organized space to display not only artwork, but also seasonal decorations or family achievements.
If you can’t find a large tack board, or if you prefer to make one of your own, you can purchase large pieces of cork board, affix them to the wall ad create your own border or frame around the cork edges.
We were lucky to find a large tack board at one of our local decorating stores, which happens to fit perfectly above the fireplace in our dining room. During the year we decorate the board with seasonal artwork that the kids bring home from school or favorites throughout the year.
Framing children’s artwork can be done in many ways. This option is usually more pleasing to the eye and can be used in almost any room of the house.
Framing artwork is a great way to add dimension to a picture wall, a great way to add color to any room and a fun decoration tool for a child’s bedroom or playroom.
I frame some of my favorites or some of the most sentimental pieces and place them all over the house – and in the kids’ rooms.
Tip: Make sure you write your child’s age, date and any other information on the back of the artwork before framing it.
There are many ways you can hang your children’s artwork. If the artwork is not done on paper, you can create a special place for it on a shelf, wall, dresser or incorporate it into another DIY project, like a wreath, patchwork quilt or inside a shadow box.
We like to play and experience art with canvases because I love the simplistic look of them once they are hung on the wall.

Great ideas! My little girls LOVE to draw and paint but the fridge gets cluttered very quickly. I can’t wait to try some of these ideas out!
Which one did you try? I think the cork board is still my number one because we can switch it out and customize it so easily 🙂
One of my favorite frame art is shadowbox frame so you can swap in new ones and store the old ones!
I love that idea, too! I also like the look of a pictureless/glasless frame with wire and a clothespin for artwork!
