Does your bathroom need a little color? Want to freshen the look of your bathroom without spending a small fortune? Try changing out your old cabinet knobs for new, colorful knobs like these:
Knobs can be ceramic, or made of glass, wood, or metal, and can come in all kinds of colors.
These knobs are ceramic. I love the bright colors and the combination of ceramic and metal on the knobs. Choose a color that works with your color scheme.
Would you believe this knob is made of wood? It looks like the ceramic ones, but it’s carved from wood and painted. Gorgeous!
For a more industrial or rustic look, choose a metal knob. Here, the knob is made to look like a button (or a manhole cover, maybe?). The pull has a whitewash over it to soften the metal. I could see these in a bath or even a kitchen.
If you live in an old Victorian house or even a bungalow, you could go with glass knobs. For example, the Craftsman bungalow we just bought has glass knobs on the doors. These green glass knobs (which come in other colors as well) would coordinate well with those door knobs.
For a peaceful feeling, how about a knob shaped like a dove? I loved these – so detailed and beautiful.
Don’t believe that you can make a big design impact with just some little knobs? Take a look:
I changed out one of the chrome knobs with one of the green and blue ceramic knobs. What a difference! I don’t think I can keep these boring chrome knobs any more!
Which kind of knob would you choose? Would you venture beyond chrome or brushed nickel into something colorful?
This is always a fun way to jazz things up, whether as knobs or to hang things on. Doesn’t have to be super expensive either.
Nice post, Karen.
Thanks, Cheryl! You’re right – not expensive. These knobs were around $4 each! Easy way to jazz up the bath!
