Pantone’s Color Report for Spring 2015 is clearly inspired by nature. The colors include warm, bright colors paired with cool neutrals, like Glacier Gray.
Cool grays like this have become popular as a neutral in home design, replacing beige or brown tones. Here are some ways you can incorporate cool grays, like Glacier Gray, into your home.
I love the contrasts in this sitting room: the cool gray with the darker, graphite gray. Also, you can see how bursts of bright color work well with Glacier Gray as a backdrop. Purples, blues, and greens pop against the light gray tone.
Cool grays are great for bedrooms because they create a calm, serene space. In our master bedroom, I used “Gentle Rain” by Behr as the wall paint.
Not ready to commit a whole room to Glacier Gray? What about a tablescape?
The gray tablecloth acts as a soft neutral here, paired with pinks and golds for a beautiful table.
Or perhaps a floor rug to anchor any look with a similar cool neutral shade….
According to Pantone, Glacier Gray pairs well with Dusk Blue, which is a blue with gray undertones, and Treetop, a deep green. You can see how the colors of nature inspired Pantone’s color trends for spring!
