If you find yourself longing for a little “happy place” to call your own you have come to the right place. Not every home can accommodate separate spaces to which one can retreat, but it is possible to carve out a little space that makes you happy. Here are some creative ideas of just how to do that.
Look at your little-used corners. Even if it’s in a much-used space, such as a family room or kitchen, those little corners can become just the right space to engage in your favorite past-time. Add your favorite chair, pillows, or accessories to personalize your nook.
Commander a little-used room, such as an extra guest room, attic space, or formal living room. If you’re fortunate to have an entire extra room, claim that space as your own and decorate at will. Make space for crafting, reading, writing, or whatever makes you happy.
Look at your outdoor spaces. The great outdoors has a way of recharging our batteries. Wouldn’t that be a perfect option for a “happy place?”
And while you’re planning your “happy place” don’t forget a happy rug to anchor the space — both indoor and outdoor. These cheery patterns from Mohawk Home are sure to up the “happy” factor.
Wishing you many hours spent in your “happy place” this summer!
