Once that holiday wreath comes down, I find myself scrambling for something fresh and “winter” to replace it. We can’t leave our front doors out in the cold and looking bare and forlorn, can we? After paying all the holiday bills I rarely want to spend money, so this year I sought out some festive winter ideas for the front door that you and I can DIY.
Mittens and greenery! Does it get any easier?
This would be so easy with Dollar Store snowflakes, hot glue and wire. You could even raid your Christmas ornaments stash to DIY this!
This was originally an Etsy listing, but it would be so simple to DIY! Two round wreath forms, white yarn, felt for the nose and eyes and a child’s scarf and hat set. Done!
Twigs from your yard, some hot glue, greenery, and simple embellishments are all you need to DIY this rustic snowflake. It’s one of my favorites. 🙂
This classic wreath will require a trip to the craft store, but it still looks relatively simple to do. Start with a grapevine wreath form and lots of sprigs of white berries. Attach the sprigs using florist wire, creating a dense look, and add a pretty ribbon. Beautiful!
So simple, I think it needs no explanation! But the impact is magnificent against that stained door.
I love to think outside the box for door decor and this silver tray with greenery, ribbons, and a silver pitcher and creamer are genius! Check your thrift store for silver plate pieces if you are uncomfortable putting your treasures on your front door. 🙂
I would grab a friend or enlist the kids to help you wrap styrofoam balls for this snow ball wreath, but I love its three dimensionality, its texture, and neutral tones.
Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, so why not head that direction with your door decor? A grapevine wreath form and red and white berry sprigs can be found at your craft store, but for the “X”, I would simply gather and tightly bundle thin twigs from my yard. Attach every thing with florist wire, add a ribbon hanger, and viola!
