Back to school season is finally here! Last week, Georgia classrooms were filled with children ready to begin a new year of learning and fun.
Over the summer break, Samantha Turley, first grade teacher at White Elementary School (Bartow County), had to move rooms and was looking for a fresh, fun way to jazz up her new space. She also wanted to create a comfortable place for students to play, read, and work together.
Mohawk Home was thrilled to provide two stylish new rugs to complete her classroom’s look. As you can imagine, a few of the qualities on her must-have list were:
- Softness
- Color
- Durability
“It needs to be able to withstand the tiny but mighty feet of six- and seven-year-olds marching across it every day,” Mrs. Turley said.
After looking through some of Mohawk’s newest kid-friendly designs, she chose the multi-colored Dyllan rug for its whimsical scallops and pops of pink, orange and lime green that correspond well with her existing décor. Its black base will also minimize the look of any potential stains—a huge win for the teacher of 19 years.
We also added Mohawk’s dual surface rug pad (made 100 percent from post-industrial recycled materials) for extra comfort and to further extend the life of the rug.
As you can see, the new additions have already been a big hit with students! To see more Mohawk rugs, including our latest children’s and interactive designs, click here.
On behalf of the entire Mohawk team, we would like to wish Mrs. Turley and her first grade students a fantastic school year!
