Rethinking Pastels in Home Decor

Pastel colors are making a comeback in home decor. I know – when I say pastels, it’s easy to think of the saccharine colors of the 1980s. The more modern version, though, is softer and used more as an accent color. Rethink using pastels in home decor – here’s how!

Farmhouse kitchens are in style right now. The pastels in this kitchen break up the whites and neutrals and add a pop of color, without being overwhelming.

Adding teals and other pastels is a way to add vintage style to a room, like in this guest room. I like how the light colors balance against the darkness of the brass bed. The room feels light and airy, rather than heavy because of the bed.
