Inspired Summer Picnic Ideas

Heidi Milton

Summer is in full swing now that Memorial Day is behind us and I love to plan a picnic before the weather gets too hot to enjoy.   Summer picnics are all about tasty foods, simple serving and presentation, and easy transportation and clean up.  I rounded up some inspiration to keep your next picnic simple but memorable for the whole family!

Easy Beverages.  Keep the drink serving as simple as possible — whether it’s big jugs of premixed refreshment or individual containers.  Mason jars take these drinks a step up from cans or juice boxes!

Fruit and veggie finger foods.  Keep the nutritious snacks and sides easy to pick up and enjoy!

Tasty easy-to-eat main dishes.  Just because it’s simple doesn’t mean it can’t be delicious!  Whip up your favorite cold dishes, create tasty salads and sandwiches, and then enjoy!

Don’t forget the sweet treats!  My standby picnic dessert is a simple assortment of homemade cookies.  But I have to admit, a mason jar dessert treat is a great idea!

Ready to plan your next picnic?  I’ll be gathering my mason jars and pulling out the picnic basket, too!  Enjoy!
