Last week, the Mohawk Home’s New York City showroom was a buzz with the best, the brightest and simply the most beautiful in flooring fashion this season! A fresh focus of the market was bringing to reality (and a retailer near you!) the concept of affordable luxury. Our design team devoted the past 18 months to research, experimentation and “plenty of trial and error” in order to create this fall’s five home fashion collections.
Palladium:
Based on the popular industrial chic movement, Palladium is one of Mohawk Home’s newest collections and the only one to feature space dyed PET, consciously constructed with our eco-friendly polyester yarn made from recycled plastic bottles. With color inspiration derived from minerals and precious metals, the look of each rug in this collection offers a vintage and antique vibe. The feel of the rugs is equally appealing with a lustrous hand and rich textures that are sure add class and distinction to any room in your home!
Zhush:
Stated in its urban dictionary definition, Zhush means “to add flamboyancy and flair,” which is exactly what the rugs in the Zhush Collection will do for any space! Inspired by fashion, the rugs of this collection incorporate a fresh pop of color with graphic patterns and modern, clean lines. Not only do the rugs in the Zhush collection add the perfect finishing touch to any space, they act as a fashion accessory that makes quite the splash of a style statement!
Luxe:
Drawing inspiration from metals and minerals, this collection features a stunning palette of gold, bronze, silver, pewter and charcoal, layered with beautiful hues of aqua, sapphire and garnet red. Constructed with a tri-color yarn, the rugs of this collection showcase a mixture of matte and lustrous sheen finishes that resemble the texture of real wool and the iridescent shine of silk. The designs of the Luxe collection are derived from old-world Persian artistry for a timeless and sophisticated appearance.
Loft:
Keeping up with the latest trend of mixing textures, this new shag collection is completely different from anything else currently offered in the world of shags. With inspiration drawn from Moroccan wedding blankets, these rugs are subtly colored and offer a modern, global look. Appearing handmade of natural fibers, the designs of the Loft collection impart an earthy look that is a fresh departure from the masses of typical shag styles currently in the market. A combination of high and low pile height of yarn lends each rug a rich dimension, sure to add comfort and style to any space!
My Beach Inspiration:
Finishing out the roundup of stunning products offered this market is our fresh new collaboration featuring the work of Wild Apple artist, Lisa Audit. Lisa’s new home collection, “My Beach Inspiration,” is filled with beautiful watercolor images and patterns cast in today’s trend-forward colors. Inspired by the sand, sea and surf, you’ll find breezy rug assortments like Beach House Kitchen, Sea Finds, Summer Bloom and Water Coral, along with a plethora of other home coordinates available in the Licensologie catalog also featuring Lisa’s work for decorating made easy!
