One of my favorite go-to decor pieces when I pull together a room is a good mirror. They allow light to move around a room, visually expand your spaces, and can add some serious style all at once. Traditional mirrors are easy to find and a safe choice when designing rooms in your home. But I find myself looking more and more for a modern mirror to spice up a more traditional interior design plan.
So what do you look for when searching for the perfect modern mirror? And what exactly does a modern mirror look like? The term “modern” is broad ranging, but I have identified three categories that can simplify your search.
Mirrors with clean lines. Clean lines just feel more contemporary and provide beautiful simplicity to your decor. Look for simple geometric shapes or mirrors with a very narrow frame.
Mirrors with interesting shapes. This has to be my favorite look. Home decor companies are wise to this trend so these are increasingly easy to find. The best look is an interesting shape with a minimal frame.
Mirrors with unusual frames or materials. Today’s designers and DIYers love to put personal stamps on otherwise uninteresting mirrors. Look for that one-of-a-kind to be a statement piece in your decor.
